Superstars Review for March 7 2013
This was another show that turned out pretty good. Only 2 matches, but that’s the norm for this show. First up we had the Usos taking on Team Rhodes Scholars. What’s that you say? Team Rhodes Scholars? But they broke up! Yeah, apparently not. They opened the match by saying it was a reunion of sorts. So you might be thinking, “Oh, so they’re just doing another 1-night-only thing, even though that in itself negates the whole one-night-only concept.” Well, you would be wrong, because it’s also been confirmed that Team Rhodes Scholars will be taking on the New Age Outlaws, (yes you heard me right there too), next week on Raw. In other words, it’s crazy. Anyway…
The match was good. Of course it was. I’ve always liked the Usos, as I keep saying in these reviews. They kept the pace fast and furious, and I managed to enjoy it even in spite of Tony What’s-his-face’s horrible commentary. Everything was going swimmingly until Jimmy took a Disaster Kick, which was unfortunately enough to put him down. Still, always good to watch the USOS. I’ll say it again, they need more airtime.
The second match was Layla versus Tamina, and dare I say it, it was good. There were several counters, and several smart maneuvers by the both of them. One of the big moments was the end, as Tamina always countered Layla’s finisher in the past. Well, she did that again, but Layla had worked that into her plans, countering Tamina’s next move, and rolling her up for a win. Congrats to Layla for that one.
And that’s our show. Overall not a bad week. I’ll be back with more of the WWE’s minor league shows next week. Stick around, cause ya know ya want to!
