Main Event Review for March 6 2013
This episode of Main Event must hold some kind of record. Why? Because there were 3 matches! 3! Highly unusual for this show. What’s more, 2 of them were good! We started out with Randy Orton taking on Wade Barrett, and as these two so often do, they put on a show. The action went outside the ring on multiple occasions, and the crowd got way into it. It ended with Orton countering the Bullhammer into a powerslam, then following up with an RKO to win. All in all, a very good start.
Second match, Zack Ryder versus Cody Rhodes. Of course, Ryder jobbed again, so let’s move on. The last match was Sin Cara versus Antonio Cesaro. I expected another squash, but was first surprised when Sin Cara pulled off some quick counter moves, really battling back against Cesaro’s powerful attacks, many of which hit home. So you can imagine my surprise when, after taking a huge shot from Cesaro, Sin Cara finds his way back up, apparently zips right up to the top rope, and delivers a Hurricanranna to Cesaro… And wins! Yeah, folks, Sin Cara scored a singles victory over Antonio Cesaro on main event. Sure it wasn’t for the title, but that’s pretty sweet for Sin Cara. People might want to stay out of Cesaro’s way for a bit, though.
And that was our show, a surprisingly good Main Event. I don’t know if the 3 match trend will continue, and in fact I doubt it will, but it was pretty cool nonetheless. We’ll see how it goes next week, but first, stay tuned for the recap of WWE Superstars. See ya then!
