Main Event Review for February 27, 2013

This show seriously started with Cody Rhodes flurting with Kaitlyn. No seriously. Sheamus shows up, makes fun of the Lovestache, and next thing you know, they have a match. As in, they have the first match, which is of course the main event. So what, nothing was scheduled before this point? We were just gonna get Michael Cole talking for 20 minutes straight? A bit odd, but nevertheless the match was on… And it was good. It was actually close, if you can believe it. Cody gets really, really upset when people insult the Lovestache apparently. I mean there was Sheamus being slammed into the announcer’s table, a successful Disaster Kick, later on in the match a Moonsault, but none of it was enough. Still, the ending solidified it as a close match. Cody went for a second Disaster Kick, which may have put Sheamus away for all we know, but he missed, and got caught with the Brogue Kick. Good overall, though. I enjoy being surprised like that.

I was subsequently not surprised by the night’s second match, Mark Henry versus Justin Gabriel. There isn’t even really that much to say. Justin, ya did good on NXT against Leo Kruger, who is, ya know, also in NXT, but being all like, “Yeah! I’m awesome! I’m gonna go after Mark Henry, a serious contender for the world heavyweight title now!” That was a bad idea. Henry absolutely owned Justin Gabriel. Gabriel got almost no offense in at all, and a World’s Strongest Slam put him away. Woops.

And that was main event. Other than that it was just a replay of the 2 big moments from Raw, which yall know about already. Stick around, though, for a Superstars recap. See ya then.
